Lowell George
It's Lowell George's 64th birthday today. Don't know him? He was the founder and lead singer/guitar of Little Feat. Never heard of Little Feat? Well, they were about the best live band ever. Their double live album, Waiting for Columbus (which includes a photo I took of Lowell on the inside cover), is considered to be in the top 3 live albums ever recorded.
So put on your dancing shoes - or maybe your Sailn' Shoes - and celebrate the late great Lowell George.
Gone but never forgotten - he was the one -through his songs, his voice, his slide guitar- who, after all those years, kept my vision of an amiable, cool&hip America alive (even during the dark, smug G. Bush years)- and as Van Dyke Parks said it (or was it you George M.?) who said his songs should be celebrated in every public place whenever possible - I certainly agree with that. Thanx Deborah for your memento and your great shot on the WFC album. A German Fan

The Rock and Roll Doctor! One of the best slide players evah, IMHO. Also the dad of Inara George of The Bird and the Bee.
Lowell's been gone for approximately 30 years (June 29th 1979). he would have been a master innovator with the technology we've seen go by since.
and i still miss him every day.
