Sometimes It's Fun

I went into the neg box tonight. I sorta knew what was in the four neg strips I pulled out. Only because I looked at them a while back. But I was too lazy to grab something completely unknown. It was late and I was happy for a 4-strip page because I could get them all on one scan. I was willing to give up on a surprise find for a quick post.

But that's not what I got. Quick post potential...yes. No surprise...no. I got a surprise. A big surprise. And I think I'm going to turn it into a contest. With a prize...sort of.

The picture that gave me the big surprise was taken in Vancouver at an event that was held at a hotel. A press junket kind of thing. I think I was hired by Mushroom Records. They, and other companies, were introducing artists and product. Something like that. But I'll get to my Mushroom Records story tomorrow. Tonight is about my surprise.

Here's the picture...

One of the people in this picture became very famous. The first person to identify the person in the photo who became famous and which person it is, wins. Click on the photo to see it bigger.

I'll offer up a choice of prizes. Unfortunately, I don't have any disposable income at the moment (times are tough) so three of the potential prizes will require the winner to pay postage charges. The first one is completely free...

Prize #1 - Bragging rights (completely free)
Prize #2 - A George Harrison Litho ($6 US shipping...more for international)
Prize #3 - A Tom Waits Litho ($6 US shipping...more for international)
Prize #4 - A copy of my book, Everybody I Shot Is Dead ($7 US shipping...more for int'l)

Sorry to have to charge the shipping but at least you'll get an inexpensive gift to impress someone. Prize #2 and #3 sell for $30 + shipping on my website and the book is $40 + shipping. I don't worry...I won't be insulted if you go for the bragging rights. I'm just looking forward to seeing if anyone can get it right.

Guess away!

Okay, I'll bite. I think the guy flippin' the bird is John Prine.

The one on the right with magazines on his knee looks like Bob Geldof of The Boomtown Rats and Live Aid etc.
