That Didn't Last Long

While I was scanning a photo I pulled for today's post, my desk caught my eye.

This is what it looks like now.

Things obviously got a little out of hand since yesterday. I'm intent on cleaning it again before I allow myself the sleep I need to get through what promises to be a crazy day tomorrow.

Here's the picture I scanned...

...a silly little self portrait I did in my first L.A. apartment. A little studio in Hollywood that I really loved. I had my old drafting table set up, a 5" foam mat as a bed a cute kitchen and bathroom with a dressing area. I did a lot of poetry writing and drawing while I lived there. And I dreamed a lot of dreams.

The portrait was a black and white photo I shot of myself, sitting on the floor in front of my makeshift bookshelves. I had a print made of it and painted over it with black and red inks.

Good times.

I like the print, it's very creative. To quote Shakespeare(and Bogie),
"We are such stuff
As dreams are made on,
and our little life
is rounded with a sleep."
